Work Based Business Organisation COM530

Apprentices studying this module will learn some important organisational theories, about the IT function and other key departments, understand organisational change, IT service management, leadership as well as looking to the future of work.

In doing so, you will have the opportunity to find out more and reflect on your own organisation as well as learning about other organisations and practices from your peers.

This module is intended to widen your perspective outside of your own role and immediate team and to provide a better understanding of other aspects of your organisation so that you can work more effectively with other teams and functions.

After studying this module, you will:

• Identify key organisational theories and practices.
• Learn about some of the major issues facing organisations today.
• Put your own role into the context of the wider organisation you work in.
• Learn more about the IT function and other key departments within your organisation.
• Work independently and in groups to discuss and analyse a topic in the context of your own and other organisations.
• Build a weekly portfolio of work focusing on a range of organisational topics
• Write a summary and reflective report providing meaningful insight from your learning.
